Lu Pengqi, Deputy Commissioner of the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) recently headed a delegation to visit Portugal, Spain and Switzerland upon invitation.
During his visit to Portugal, Lu delivered a keynote speech at an international round table conference titled "Thinking about Industrial Property, Sustainability and the Future of the Planet", sharing China's successful experience and practice in using IPRs to promote sustainable development, and held profound discussions with heads of the IP5 offices. In Spain, Lu hosted a bilateral talk with the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office, sharing the latest developments of the two offices and exchanging ideas about the issues of common concern. In Switzerland, he had separate meetings with Deputy Director General Wang Binying and Hasan Kleib, and other senior leaders of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), worked out the details of preparatory work for China-WIPO 50th anniversary of cooperation during the upcoming Assemblies of the Member States of WIPO and shared comments on other issues of common concern.
During his visit, Lu also visited the Embassy of China in Spain, Permanent Mission of China to the United Nations Office at Geneva and other International Organizations in Switzerland and Permanent Mission of China to the World Trade Organization in Switzerland.
