Shen Changyu, Commissioner of the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) met Tao Lin, Global Vice President of Tesla Inc. on August 30.
Shen said that the Chinese government has always been attaching great importance to IP protection, constantly refining IP legislation, strengthening the construction of specialized agencies and teams, upgrading IP examination quality and efficiency and heightening IP protection, which results in the continuous increase of the whole society’s awareness in respecting and protecting IPRs. China has been adhering to the principle of treating and protecting the IPRs of Chinese and foreign-funded enterprises including Tesla Inc. equally, protecting the legitimate rights and interest of foreign investment by law, and constantly creating a market-oriented, law-based, internationalized first-class business environment to attract more foreign enterprises to invest and do business in China.
Tao said that Tesla Inc. has been deeply aware of China’s serious attention to IP protection and looks forward to enhancing communication with the CNIPA, deepening exchanges and sharing China’s development opportunities with the industry.
CNIPA principal officials responsible for the General Office, the IP Protection Department and the Trademark Office also attended the meeting.
