Lu Pengqi, Deputy Commissioner of the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA), met with guests - Shafiu Yauri Adamu, Head of the Nigerian Trademarks, Patents and Designs Registry, Willie Mushayi, Chief Registrar of the Companies and Intellectual Property Office of Zimbabwe (CIPZ), Koffi Paul Assande, Director General of Ivorian Office of Intellectual Property Ministry for Industry and the Promotion of the Private Sector (OIPI), and Pierre Claver Runiga, Acting Director of Legal Affairs & International Cooperation of the African Regional Intellectual Property Organization (ARIPO), who attended the International Seminar on Geographical Indications (GIs) in Jinan, Shandong Province on September 19.
Lu said that strengthening IP cooperation between China and Africa and building a sound business environment together are in sync with the expectations of Chinese and African enterprises and people. China is willing to continue deepening IP exchanges with African countries to boost our IP cooperation to new levels.
The attending guests made positive evaluation of the cooperative results with the CNIPA, and looked forward to expanding the cooperation to better serve IP users.
CNIPA principal officials responsible for the International Cooperation Department also attended the meeting.
