CNIPA Deputy Commissioner Meets NBC Universal Senior Vice President in Beijing

Lu Pengqi, Deputy Commissioner of the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) met Monique Cheng Joe, Senior Vice President at NBC Universal Media, LLC. in Beijing on October 18.

Lu said that the Chinese government has been attaching great importance to IP protection. The CNIPA, always with a positive and open stance, has been maintaining close communication with the business circle, keeping strengthening IP protection and creating a top-notch business environment for both Chinese and foreign enterprises. As for the trademark field, the CNIPA has been constantly cracking down on malicious trademark registration and yielded fruitful results by legislation enhancement, examination and adjudication, administrative protection, cultivation of IP protection ecology and other work.

Monique Cheng Joe appreciated the CNIPA's efforts in strengthening IP administrative enforcement, improving trademark examination efficiency and cracking down on malicious trademark registration and introduced IP protection work at NBC Universal.

CNIPA principal officials responsible for the International Cooperation Department, IP Protection Department and the Trademark Office also attended the meeting.
