I. Patent Authorizations This month, we secured 161 patent grants in China (based on the issuance date of authorization notices), including:
26 invention patents 85 utility model patents 50 design patents
For international patents, we obtained 13 grants, all for invention patents. Key jurisdictions include Japan and South Korea.
II. Key Legal Case Updates
1.Invention Patent Re-examination (Decision No. 1786901) On December 2, 2024, we received a reexamination decision overturning the original rejection of the patent application.
2.Design Patent Validity Case (Decision No. 583478) Representing the patent holder in an invalidation request, we received a decision on December 25, 2024, confirming the validity of the design patent.
3.Utility Model Patent Invalidation Dispute (Case No.: [2024] Jing 73 Xing Chu 7275) Representing the third party (invalidation requester), the Beijing Intellectual Property Court issued a first-instance judgment on December 31, 2024, dismissing the plaintiff’s claims and upholding our client’s position.
4.Utility Model Patent Infringement Appeal (Case No.: [2023] Zui Gao Fa Zhi Min Zhong 11) Representing the appellee (original plaintiff), the Supreme People’s Court issued a second-instance judgment on December 31, 2024, rejecting the appellant’s appeal and upholding the original ruling.
